Our Mission Statement: Lighthouse Christian School exists to glorify God by providing quality, Christ-centered education that will nurture students to become spiritually minded, academically versed, socially balanced, and equipped to make a positive impact in their community to the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Throughout our history, the LCS Mission Statement has served as a reminder of what guides us as a Christian K-8 school, and it continues to direct the actions of your school board and administration as we manage and improve our program. As we seek to go about this work, we are mindful of our responsibility to be good stewards of the school’s financial resources, balancing an excellent program with accessibility for families. LCS tuition rates are on par with, or below, similar private schools.
For the 2017-18 budget, we are relying on $450,000 in contributions to cover all our expenses. This means $1,240 of each students’ LCS experience is being subsidized by the generosity of donors. This is not unusual for us to rely on contributions as we intentionally work to keep tuition as affordable as possible. Our goal, over time, is to slowly close this gap while continuing to maintain our facilities, provide competitive compensation for our teachers, and maintain and expand our excellent academic programs.
For these reasons, after careful and prayerful analysis of our program and budget, the Board at its January meeting approved the following tuition for the 2018-19 academic year:
Kindergarten: $7,150 (a $100 increase)
Elementary: $8,730 (a $230 increase)
Middle School $9,320 (a $270 increase)
Even with this year’s modest increase, LCS continues to be among the very best values in Christian education in the Puget Sound:
Our students continue to excel – they consistently test in the top 15th percentile in the nation for reading, language and math in standardized testing. This testing is an international standard with more than 18 million students participating.
Lighthouse graduates are equipped for success in ANY high school program and beyond. They will be well prepared to take honors and AP courses at the high school level.
We continue to work to improve the value of a Lighthouse education with ongoing focus in these key development areas:
Spiritual Formation: Creating a strong spiritual foundation to prepare them for the rest of their life
Strong Academic Knowledge: Supporting our students to achieve their maximum potential
Leadership Skills: Developing principled students who are confident and stand up for what is right
Thank you for partnering with us to ensure we continue providing the quality, Christ-centered education called for in our Mission statement.
