Endowment

Since the early roots of Lighthouse, providing a sustainable legacy in the community has been a top priority. Over time, the seeds of an endowment have been created by a core group of families with a desire to see Lighthouse flourish well into the future – and provide a Lighthouse education for those who may not otherwise be able to be blessed by the experience.

An endowment fund is a permanent, self-sustaining source of funding. Endowment gifts are invested conservatively with a hopes of growing it to provide meaningful income in the future. Currently the $210,000 endowment is earmarked for Tuition Assistance. Financial need for Tuition Assistance is roughly $190,000 per year – providing grants for 75 students for 2016-17. In order to fund this important program fully, Lighthouse will need to build its endowment to $5 million.

It is through the hearts and resources of many that we will be able to build this for future generations of Navigators. There is no minimum amount for an endowment gift. Growth will be achieved over time by the generosity of many – in all shapes and sizes.

Estate gifts, or those provided through securities are also wonderful opportunities for both the school and the donor. For more information, please contact Director of Development Sally Glover: sglover@lcschool.org 253-858-5962, ext. 604.
