Legacy Builders

THURSDAY, OCTOBER 26TH, from 7:45 – 9:00 AM

The Legacy Breakfast, held each fall, is an excellent time to invite those who would like to know more about the mission of Lighthouse. Join us for this energizing morning which displays Lighthouse in a very clear and motivational way. The event is free and provides childcare for those attending the breakfast program.

To RSVP or for more information, please contact Melissa Heckman, Director of Development, at 253-858-5962, ext. 604.

The 2016 Legacy Builders Breakfast achieved more than $230,000 in gifts and pledges which will help us advance our mission and sustain our future. Long-term commitments to the Lighthouse program enable us to achieve many important goals that would not be possible otherwise.

The academic program continues to thrive as our students historically score in the top 15th percentile in the nation on standardized testing. This is possible because of a nurturing community of excellent, highly-qualified staff who consider it their mission to serve at Lighthouse. We are blessed with the ability to provide competitive compensation for these people who make a meaningful difference in the lives of our students on a daily basis, and provide the solid foundation they need to succeed in their future.

Other hallmarks of the Legacy Builders program includes:

  • $1 million reduction in the existing building debt in March of 2016, leaving a remaining balance of $1.55 million
  • Chrome books in each classroom which allow for challenge learning opportunities in math and reading
  • A Math Lab where children hone their math skills in a whole new way – truly thinking “ouside the box.”
  • A beautiful facility that is well maintained for our students, staff and families
  • Expansive extra-curricular program

Sustainable funding is a critical element in the future of Lighthouse. The Legacy program provides an opportunity to invest in Lighthouse – for greatest needs – by making a multi-year commitment. The focus is to enable long-term planning for critical budget needs.

Now in its eighth year, the Legacy Builders program has raised more than $2.1 million in gifts and pledges over the life of the program which includes  92  Legacy Builder members and generous, year over year, and one-time donors.

The 2016 Legacy Builders video is featured on the About Us page of this site.
