TESTIMONIALS
What our families are saying about Lighthouse Christian School...
“Relationships built at Lighthouse last well beyond the years spent at the school. Having experienced the public schools at various grade levels, we've come to really value the time-tested, solid academics offered at Lighthouse. The school has a great balance between progressive methods and traditional teaching that capitalizes on the strengths children have at different stages of development. We've found that the public school shifts gears often, following new trends for our kids that don't always serve them well.
“I wouldn't trade a single year of my children's education at Lighthouse for any other opportunity in the area. At Lighthouse, they have had teachers who go far beyond their duty in helping build character in an affirming way, they have friendships that will last a lifetime, they have a very strong academic base, and they are secure in themselves because of the Biblical foundation they have received. Our daughter, 13, has shown such maturity in her faith as a result of mentors and friends she had at Lighthouse.”

“As parents of a kindergarten student at Lighthouse Christian, we feel blessed that our son is a part of a school where he is getting greater
education along with the opportunity to worship and love the Lord as a part of his daily educational environment. Lighthouse is not just a school, but a family of teachers, students, and parents, coming together as one to glorify God. It is a great privilege to be a member of this family where the teachers are compassionate and caring, parents are involved and active participants in their child's learning , and the students reap the benefits of superior academics and God's amazing grace. And, they love their daily education! I am so grateful to God my son attends Lighthouse — a school where he can learn, pray, sing, and openly walk with Christ along with his peers. What a blessing!"

“Lighthouse has partnered with our family in building a solid Christian foundation for our children. Its faculty and staff have taught our children from a Biblical worldview that is consistent with our own worldview. Our children have been nurtured by outstanding teachers in a fantastic environment. We will forever be grateful to Lighthouse for its impact on our lives. Thank you Lighthouse!”

"
Luke has had a great year of learning at Lighthouse. We have seen his reading skills skyrocket and his love for learning grow. Mrs. Otis’ classroom is warm and inviting. The small class size provides for a lot of individual attention and a strong sense of community. Each child is valued and taught of Jesus’ love for them. Luke loves singing songs that he has learned at school. He is very proud of his memorization of scripture and it gives us joy to hear him recite the verses he has learned. We are very thankful for Luke’s outstanding kindergarten experience at Lighthouse!"

"We’ve been blessed to be a part of the Lighthouse community since 1995, its second year of existence. Our son Michael entered Kindergarten that year and graduated from 8th grade in 2004 while our daughter Lauren has followed in his steps and is entering 8th grade this coming year.
"Lighthouse has been an extraordinary gift to our children for the excellent academics, spiritual growth, social development, and athletic skills that have been fostered in their lives. Each teacher has demonstrated a deep love for our children (including attending birthday parties!) and a nurturing and encouraging spirit that has allowed both of them to flourish. We attribute much of Michael’s acceptance into his “dream college,” Pepperdine University, to the excellent educational foundation and preparation that he received at Lighthouse. And, to this day, his closest friends were those made at our school.
"Lighthouse is also a remarkable community with lasting friendships cultivated among our parent body. Whether it was as a small school operating in three churches in its early days or to the much larger program offered today, the bonds of friendship that exist among our families make it much more than a school. While serving as parent volunteers, member of the school board, basketball coach, or as a teacher, we have called Lighthouse our educational home and we are grateful to God for directing us to this wonderful place."

“There are several aspects of Lighthouse that the Werner family loves...the teachers, the facility and the education offered within a Christian environment. Our fifth grade son loves the teachers and the sports he’s been involved in since third grade . . . our second grade daughter loves the teachers, all the learning she gets to do, and all the great friends she has there . . . and our kindergarten daughter loves her teacher, Mrs. Otis, and Miss Heidi, the after school care provider, and all the things that she gets to learn every day. All three of our children absolutely love Chapel on Thursdays and Mr. Hoy’s great stories, as well as their PE classes. What a grand experience we’ve had so far at Lighthouse —we hope more people will join in on the fun of Lighthouse Christian School!”

What the kids are saying…
"If you're a new person in the class, you feel included. You learn a lot, but the teachers make it fun."
— Alex, 10
"It's easy to get to know people and make friends. The teachers are great. We get to do really fun field trips and other activities that you can't do in the public school."
— Leah, 13
“I have been at Lighthouse Christian School since Kindergarten, and I would not have it any other way. I grew up at Lighthouse and it has become like a second home to me. When you enter the school, you are not just an average student, but you become part of one huge family. Everyone knows everyone and we all care about each other...Your grade forms your immediate family and works with you, prays with you, and cares about you. Your teachers treat you, not only as their students, but as their children. My first grade teacher still knows me by name and asks about my family and even my dogs!
“The teachers at LCS will push you to do your best and will fill your mind with more knowledge than you thought your head could store. They also take time out of their day to help you after class if you don’t understand something. Your Bible teacher asks you questions that get to the point, but also make you really think about how you live your life. LCS also wants to make sure you have a lot of fun while learning. Every class goes on a couple field trips every year and they are experiences you will never forget. I still remember the third grade, Pioneer Farms field trip, which consisted of cleaning up after a pig, sitting on an ice cream maker to keep the lid from falling off, and making pop corn over a fire. Then there is the eighth grade Washington D.C. trip which has become legendary in the school and has been called “a once in a lifetime experience” and always brings special memories and hilarious stories back…
“Without Lighthouse, I would not be the Christian I am today. I accepted Christ in the second grade, thanks to one of my amazing teachers, Miss Erickson. When my mom became sick, I was never alone. I was surrounded by prayers and loving families who reached out. People care at Lighthouse and it shows. You can see the love in the smiles of the joy-filled students, the office ladies patching up the kids who got a little too rough on that playground, and the teachers who pray for their past and present students daily. Every student’s faith grows every day spent in the class rooms. Wonderful speakers are brought in and teachers share their testimonies during chapels, all of which help you grow in your faith and learn about Christ and the Bible.
“Lighthouse is an amazing school because it manages to bring students together, helps every student to grow in their faith, and teaches in fun and productive ways.”
— Lauren Trittin, 13
