Welcome to Lighthouse Christian School’s 20th year!
Twenty years after its founding, Lighthouse has grown beyond the wildest dreams of its founders. Join us this school year as we celebrate a history marked by God’s providence and look forward to a tremendous future.
Lighthouse’s founders were a group of teachers and parents who began to pray early in 1994 about starting a school dedicated to Christian spirituality and academic excellence. What they lacked in experience and resources they made up for in faith, and God guided them. The school opened in the fall of 1994 with 90 students in grades K-8.
In the years since then, Lighthouse has been blessed with a wonderful faculty, fantastic families, the support of local churches, a selfless board, and a nurturing community. For the full story of how Lighthouse has grown and changed while retaining its core values, visit the History page. This fall, we welcome 345 students as we continue to offer a strong and spiritual K-8 academic program. Lighthouse continues to shine God’s light in the Gig Harbor and Kitsap Peninsula communities.

20th Anniversary Events:

LEGACY BREAKFAST  |  October 24, 2014 – Thank you for your support!

It was amazing to celebrate 20 years with our founding board members, recounting the Lighthouse history, and paving the way for our future with generous heart-felt prayer and donations. We were blessed with 220 guests – and achieved $322,545 in gifts and pledges over the next 5 years, including 9 new families who committed to the Legacy Builders long-term sustainable funding program —  for a total of 76.  Now in its 6th year, the Legacy Builders program has achieved more than $2.1 million over the life of the program to:

  • Enhance the Lighthouse academic program
  • Increase teacher salaries and benefits
  • Maintain our amazing facility
  • Provide for families who would otherwise not have the benefit of an LCS education and,
  • Make head-way toward our $2.7 million building debt

Thank you for making a difference! The 2014 Legacy Builders video is now featured on the About Us page of this site.

ALUMNI BASKETBALL TOURNAMENT | December 24, 2014 – Thank you to our alums!

Twenty seven of our LCS grads from 2003 through 2014 participated in our first-ever Alumni Basketball Tournament.  The morning was full of laughter, good-natured ribbing, and reconnecting with old friends while we dusted off our basketball skills. Four teams went head to head to compete for the bragging rights of being the “top” class team.  After a fun and competitive morning, the graduating classes of 2009 and 2010 took the tournament title! Thanks to all our alums for making this event memorable.

ANNUAL AUCTION | March 14, 2015 – Thank you for your generosity!

Happy Birthday Lighthouse! We are so thrilled to report tremendous results from the evening:  NET income of $115,000 toward operating and $64,200 toward the Fund-a-Need (sound improvements to Navigator Hall and the Gym) for a total of $180,000.  We are so thankful to the many generous hearts who sponsored, donated items, organized basket items, class project coordinators, staff who developed fun offerings and experiences and of course…auction night bidders who have blessed us all greatly.   Thanks to ALL of you, we will be able to make a very real difference for our students, staff, program and pave the way for a sustainable future.
