Mathisen-Cynthia

CINDY MATHISEN
Elementary Principal
Cindy has always lived in the beautiful Pacific Northwest. She and her husband raised their four children in the same Kitsap County home they currently reside atop Mathisen Lane. They immensely enjoy the friendship and ongoing family ties with their young adult children, including the addition of two sons-in-law. Cindy began her professional career in early childhood education. The Lord opened a variety of venues for teaching and learning. In addition to early childhood education, Cindy found great joy in homeschooling, special education preschool, elementary and middle school classroom teaching, and community outreach. She has taught in both public and private schools with pre-kindergarten through adult learners. She has also been previously called to school administrative leadership positions within other regional Christian schools. Cindy received her Bachelor of Arts in Education degree from Western Washington University. She holds a Master’s degree in education, with a focus on curriculum, instruction and assessment, from Walden University. She maintains administrative certification from Western Washington University, as well. After having taught two wonderful and memorable years at Lighthouse Christian in third grade, Cindy could not be more grateful to the Lord for her new position as Elementary Principal and approaches it with a dedicated heart and mind to serve LCS families.

TERESA GARCIA

BA in Education from Central Washington University, Masters Degree in Instructional Design from American College of Education. As a lifelong resident of the Pacific Northwest, I’ve grown up in the great outdoors.  I love camping, toiling in the yard, hiking beautiful trails, and finding hidden treasures on road trips.  My generational roots in Gig Harbor have grounded my family in the community I cherish.  My husband and I have enjoyed raising our four children and watching them flourish into young adults.  Lighthouse has been an integral part of my family’s development and it is a privilege to work within a thriving and nurturing environment.
