Lighthouse Christian School is committed to admitting students who believe in the school mission by offering tuition assistance to families who otherwise could not afford full tuition. Our Tuition Grant Program assists students in grades K-8 by helping to offer a quality education to those students for whom the cost would otherwise be prohibitive. It is our desire to encourage families to apply to Lighthouse Christian School regardless of financial circumstances.
We wholeheartedly embrace the Apostle Paul’s call to “share with God’s people who are in need” (Romans 12:13) and strive to create a diverse student body of varying financial circumstances. This is made possible through a fund which receives monies from the general operating budget and from donations by LCS benefactors who are committed to this mission.
Tuition Grants are awarded to families based on financial need. Eligibility and grant amounts are determined by LCS’ Tuition Grant Committee after reviewing the recommendation from an independent financial assessment organization, FACTS Management Company. Since every situation is unique, there is no maximum income level or debt ratio restriction for families to be awarded assistance. However, depending on the size of the applicant pool and the available funds, those families in the greatest financial need will receive priority. Tuition grants are not designed to support lifestyle choices that result in heavy financial stress or indebtedness. Preference will be given to families with students currently attending LCS.
For the 2023-2024 school year, please submit your applications by May 15, 2023 to be considered for a 10-month (full year) grant.
The first step in applying for tuition assistance is to complete the admissions process. Grant decisions are not reviewed until the student is accepted and enrolled at Lighthouse. Click here to go to our admissions web page.
Submit a grant application online with FACTS Management Co. Click here to begin.
Complete and submit the Statement of Confidentiality form.
Complete and submit the Tuition Assistance Additional Questionnaire Form.
The following dates pertain to both current and new Lighthouse families:
Please Note: The application, a copy of the current tax return submitted in the FACTS application, Statement of Confidentiality, and Additional Questionnaire must all be submitted/received by the deadlines listed above in order to be considered for a grant. The date in which the Tuition Assistance Committee receives the complete application will determine whether the recipient will qualify for a full or partial year grant.
The admission process must first be completed and your student fully enrolled. However, a family’s decision to apply for tuition grants will have no bearing on the admission decision. Enrollment and tuition grant decisions are made independently. If within 30 days after receiving the grant decision, an applicant elects not to attend LCS (and it is before school has commenced) their re-enrollment or registration fees will be refunded.
If, after applying with FACTS, one or more of children will not be attending Lighthouse, the applicant must promptly inform Amelia Grayson, Director of Operations, at 253-858-5962 or agrayson@lcschool.org and should expect a revision in the grant amount.
FACTS Management assesses a $40 fee (per family) at the time of application.
Tuition grants are credited on a monthly basis to that family’s FACTS account. Families are responsible for paying the remaining portion when due.
The awards are grants and not expected to be repaid.
No. LCS believes that it is in the best interests of the school and our families if parents have a financial commitment to their children’s education. The maximum grant amount is equal to 55% of annual tuition.
LCS will refund any enrollment and registration fees IF you notify the school within 30 days of receiving the grant decision that you will not be able to enroll your student(s) at Lighthouse. However, if school has already started, then LCS will not be able to refund any fees.
Lighthouse Christian School does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, or national or ethnic origin, in the administration of its educational policies, admissions, tuition assistance, athletic, and school administered programs.
