Our teachers are mindful of the different learning styles and abilities of each student and utilize their knowledge of child development and excellent instructional methods to ensure successful learning takes place in the classroom. While Lighthouse focuses on challenging academics, enhancing the creativity of our students is an important part of the learning process. Our program offers dedicated field trips at each grade level as well as unity-building retreats from grades 5th through 8th. Grade-level field trips focus on community service opportunities. Field trips also include adventures to Pioneer Farms, the Seattle Aquarium, and the Pacific Science Center. In the 8th grade, students travel to Washington D.C., for five days, where they experience firsthand the history and government of our country. Many In addition, students in 3rd-8th grade participate in local and regional competitions – including speech meets, Math Olympics, spelling bee, and a creative writing festival – sponsored by the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI).
