Community Service

Fostering the servant heart of our students is a top priority at Lighthouse Christian. Students learn to identify the gifts and talents God has given for serving others, to recognize a need and to make a plan to meet that need, both locally and globally.

From younger students taking collections for FISH food bank and visiting local retirement homes, to older elementary students serving at the Race for a Soldier breakfast and collecting coats for the homeless, serving others is an integral part of who we are.

Students in grades 3-5 have many opportunities to participate in both local and global fundraisers.  Middle school students are required to complete quarterly community service hours throughout each school year. These projects range from ministering at a Veteran’s home, cleaning at a church, volunteering at a food bank, or helping a neighbor in need. Some projects are completed by groups of students, while others are completed individually.

In addition, Lighthouse students in all grades are given opportunities to participate globally, reaching out through worldwide missions such as helping orphans in Baghdad through the Foundation for Relief and Reconciliation in Middle East and in sponsoring our sister school in Liberia through All God’s Children (AGC).

All God’s Children Schools (Liberia)

Lighthouse is privileged to sponsor a sister school in Liberia. The prayerful and financial support enables more than 1,000 Liberian students to receive an education. Past projects have included providing uniforms, school supplies, soccer balls, desks and supplemental teacher salaries for All God’s Children Schools. Students also exchange letters between the two schools, and Lighthouse teachers have completed summer mission trips to Liberia.
