High academic standards
Academics are a high priority at Lighthouse Christian. We employ only state-certified and ACSI (Association of Christian Schools International) certified teachers for full time positions who are committed to a faith in Jesus Christ and educational excellence. Our teachers set and achieve exceptional results on a daily, monthly, and yearly basis, which contributes to our elementary students being enthusiastic, joyful learners. Combined with a nurturing environment and solid educational philosophy and methodology, Lighthouse classrooms are proving to be among the most productive in the nation!
Along with quality in-class testing, Lighthouse also uses AIMSweb to routinely assess students’ progress in the basic skills of reading, language and math throughout the school year. At the end of each year, students are assessed using Terra Nova, a standardized testing tool, to compare our students learning with students across the country as well as other ACSI schools. Some of the results are highlighted below including scores reaching into the top 15th percentile in the nation. The LCS academic program demonstrates a strong balance in foundational skills.
